About

Dale Lisa Flint

Born in New York, raised in San Francisco, currently watching cattle graze on her 43-acre ranch in the Sierra Nevada foothills, Dale Lisa Flint's life has been full of plot twists.

At age 8, she was a founding member of The Young People's Musical Theatre Company in San Francisco. As a young adult, she studied classical acting with the American Conservatory Theatre and the California Shakespeare Festival, working with the Bay Area California Arts Project, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, and Cal Shakes. In 1998, she earned a BA in Dramatic Art from UC Berkeley, followed by a Master's degree in Theatre Arts (emphasis Shakespeare) from San Jose State University.

While she occasionally worked professionally as an actor, her primary career became teaching. Throughout the past two decades, Dale has taught English, Drama, Journalism, and Art at the junior high and high school level.

As a director, her productions have won numerous awards at regional theatre festivals. During the height of Covid, needing a play for her students to perform virtually, Dale tried her hand at playwrighting. Her very first one-act, Waiting for Mr. G., was published by Eldridge Plays and Musicals.

Writing a book was always a bucket-list dream for Dale. She began writing Finding Juliet in 2013. The novel, set to be published Summer 2025 by Turtle Cove Press, represents a culmination of all Dale's experiences and loves, from the strong female protagonist (the book is dedicated to her daughter), to her love of Shakespeare (and cross-genre fiction such as Outlander).

Feeling at home on the ranch, surrounded by animals (dog, cat, fish, snails, snake, bearded dragon - plus the aforementioned cows) and her family (husband, son, and aforementioned daughter), she can't wait to see what the next chapter has in store.
